I was driving today, in a very moderate style, when my poor little kitty started grinding when I shifted from second into third gear as well as pulling to the right a bit.
I thought I had a tire issue, pulled right over and did a walk around it, all tires were sound, so I got back in and with great caution resumed my travel. (I was headed to the hospital to see my mom in icu.)
The start from stop was fine, but when I shifted into second it let out a truly horrible grind. At this point I had to go a few hundred feet to clear the trafficway.
The hot smell of overheated fluid and metal (at least that's what it smelled like to me) was incredible.
All gears are gone, including reverse, and kitten came home on a rollback truck.
I cried.
