Default 2006 X-Type:Problem with passenger side.

Hello All,

I've come again with a little problem. Don't know how to clearly explain it but here goes.

Quite recently I had to change my Steering Rack due to Oil leaking and the shaft having given up.

Only problem now is that I seem to have this sort of movement on the passenger side wheel. I will be speeding and then the right hand sways on its own without the left side responding as such. I thought it might be the steering rack was not fixed well but still no deficiencies there. Also when I hit a pot-hole I hear a metal to metal noise.

Have taken the car to a repair shop and they observed that the engine mounting has cut. My question is does the engine mounting make the car lose direction in one wheel alone. Really need a good answer cause dont want to go and spend money on what is not broke.

As a side note, have done alignment and when speeding the car pretty much goes stragith when hands-free from the steering wheel.

Please help.

The cut engine could cause problems. The engine does twist when you get on and off the gas. The engine twisting could be causing your issue. You should have the mount fixed anyway.
