Default 2006 X-Type Sportwagon for rebuild/parts Detroit MI

Have only visited this site when we got our sportwagon back in April.
Tried to list this in the for sale section....but I was not allowed. ????

Anyways..........wife was in a ( very ) low speed accident last night.
Had the car towed to Lakeside Collision in Clinton Township, MI
We DONT have collision on the car....and I'm sure whatever price they will come back with...will be more than the car is worth.
At least....more than I want to pay for it.

I'm trying to find out if anyone on this site would want it for a re-build / parts.
Has 114K miles, runs like a top, and from what I gather...the sportwagons are pretty rare.
Tires are basically new.
Seems a shame to just have it towed to a scrap yard.
I have a clean title.
If I had the time/space....I would part the thing out myself.
Not sure how long I can leave it at the collision shop.

I'll see if I can add a pic to this post.

Once again ... I realize this is in the wrong section.
So Mods.....please help.

It does not look too bad, I say fix it unless the airbags blew in the collision. You should be able to find the hood , fender and front in silver and bolt them on. Was the frame bent at all?
Those are great cars. I will take a few trim pieces from the rear if you can get them off the car for me.

Damn shame, since I'm sure it's long gone now, but I traded my 2003 sedan this spring because of the rockers rusting so bad in the rear (and many other things). Exterior sheet metal was perfect. And silver. Would have given you everything you needed to fix your car, and I only got $500 for it. Sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear about the accident. I hope your wife is OK.

You need a 5 Post count AND registered on the forum for a minimum 10 Days to post in MARKETPLACE. It's the low post count stopping you.

However, you've tried to do the right thing so I'll leave the thread here BUT please let me know when the vehicle goes so I can delete the thread. If not, you could be getting replies for years to come as the threads stay in the Model forums forever.

Just sold the car.......for $300
Hell.....I have more than that into the 2 back tires.
Oh well.

Quote to fix......$9,400
A mere $6,000 more than I paid for the car !

LOL

Would love to find another one.....but the 21 MPG, on premium gas, was killing me.
Wife drives about 40 miles round trip to work.
This thing was costing us 7 bucks a day in gas, just to and from work.
But have to admit...fun car...and ALWAYS got the same response from people..." I've never seen a Jag station wagon "
