Default AC Compressor install...dealer or local shop?

So I,m an hour at best from my local Jag dealer and my 03 X Type needs a new compressor. Is that something I can ave a local mechanic do or should I make the trek to the shop. The local guy is MUCH less, but will I need to take it to the dealer to reprogram anything in the computer?

Thanks in advance

Shop around and get some prices.. Also see if you can get the compressor online for a cheaper price then what they quote you.

ME: I would take it to my local Jaguar shop to fix it. The dealer would have a field day banging someone out for that work.

No reprogramming needed, it's a pretty straight forward job..... drop the corner of the sub-frame am BAM swap the parts...... well not that easy but not impossible for a capable mechanic. As long as they are equipped to charged th system back up i would go to a local shop will be MUCH cheaper.....
