Advice on DIY removal of front subframe
Has anyone done this without all the special alignment tools, measurement tools, and Jag specific subframe jack in the JTIS procedure? Would love to hear from anyone with experience trying this at home. Thanks!

Thanks for that. I am not looking to remove the engine and/or trans, just trying to replace the firewall side catalytic converter so am hoping this can be done with less disassembly than jfenly went through. Anyone replaced a rear catalytic??

It is a bit of a chore but if you have access to a lift it can be done in place.
Remove the upper intake manifold for access. Soak the bolts good in rustbuster and make sure everything is cold. Removing intake bolts hot will just about guaranty the inserts will pull out that the bolts screw into. |
