So since I've had my 03 x type, only the driver seat speaker has worked and all others don't. Little research led me to believe that it could be a bad amp or something. However a little more research and I'm pretty sure it's the car needing a code in order to know it's not stolen or whatever. This was maybe triggered from removing the battery, not sure. Anyway, I plan on going for a double din touchscreen aftermarket radio. Would that remedy the issue by any chance? Or is the speaker lock out set from a different system?

If it was a code issue the radio would not play at all. More likely the others speakers could be bad. Probably best to at least check the other speakers first to see if they are even good and then go from there.
