Can I use an AGM battery for my car 2008 xtype 3.0? The battery is from a 2024 Explorer

 

I would be concerned that the unusual charging system in the X-type that goes to 15 Volts might not play well with the AGM battery. If you charge an AGM battery too fast the battery won't last long. If you charge it the way it likes it will last longer than a lead acid battery. I would try the battery manufacturer for info, specifically what the "fast charge rate" is. If you exceed that you will damage the AGM battery.

 

AGM batteries are used in the XJ's. So, I would say you should be good to go.
