Does your recirc. work? Check for freon leaks.

I'm having issues again with my Aircon also. It works, then shuts off. Works, then shuts off. It did that all the way home today in my 45 minute commute.

Recharge? Possibly? I can hear the compressor engaging on/off as it's doing this every 10 minutes or so.

coolings fans may not be working, does car overheat?
SpartanX, u maybe having same problem, when caris idling,
turn a/c on and check fans if working, they should come on with a/c
on, if fans come on and off, is going bad. well not really the fans
but cooling fan module.

Bought it with 70k on the ODO. I have 84k on it now, and I'm loving it. If I can get this aircon working all the time, I'll be fully satisfied. Well, can't really beat it for $12k and $50 a month for insurance.

Even with the compressor switching on/off? I was thinking it was low because as soon as the compressor shuts off, the air just gets steamy hawwwt! But now that you say that, the fans shut off too, as if the A/C has been turned off manually from the climate control.

Not saying this is your problem but mine did this before I replaced the fuse/relay inside the engine bay...pop the hood find it and try replacing that...mine did everything you guys state until one day it was 96+degrees and humid here in michigan with my baby in the car!

not to sound completely ignorant. was it a fuse or a relay? and do you just pop the cap off the fuse box(under the hood) and replace? and which one? thanks, Bill

Bad news if it's the cooling fan module...

You can't get the module by itself anyomre. You have to buy the entire fan assembly, which will set you back about $500. To top it off, it's on back order for at least 2 weeks. Not as if I'm going to buy it anyway, but whatever.

Meanwhile, my a/c still cuts in and out daily.

I know I'm a newbie here, but that sounds like it needs a recharge. My work van was doing the same thing (cool air at higher RPM's and warm air at idle). Recharged it and its good as new. I think there's a pressure switch in most A/C systems that will shut the system down if the pressure gets too low to keep from burning itself up. That may be why it shuts off and on all the time. Pressure buillds enough for the system to operate then falls tripping the switch shutting the system down. Just something else to think about.......

I'm thinking i'm in need of a recharge also, but here's my dilemma:

Mine only does this in EXTREME HEAT. At night, if I turn on the A/C, it doesn't do it as much. However, it doesn't get ice cold as it once did when I first got the car.

I may just get it checked because I'm tired of playing the guessing game with this.

Honestly spartan mine did the same thing...I went and bought the recharge kit put the freaking can on the quick connect tool and put it on the low pressure port and it read FULL!!! WTF??? So needless to say i paid 30 bucks for the kit that I had no need to buy. My car would get freezing cold and than like only half work or get cooler than the regular vent being on but not cold...finally my relay blew one day and since than I haven't had the problem...??? Prolly just another jag thing!!!
