If you're in the US, it's AWD. All 2.5L and 3.0L X-Types are AWD with 60% of the power to the rear wheels.

Sweet, thanks so much. Im in Chaicago, IL. The dealership sent me an email saying they would let it go for 8500 plus tax, title, lic..... Its an 02 x type 2.5 auto. Light blue w/ 80k on the clock. Black leather. No navi unfortunately. I called and asked if the price was still vaild and if they had it. As soon as I said 8500 and asked if it was AWD (add was a little unclear on the AWD factor), he said hed have to call me back on it. He called me back and said it was only FWD and had transmission problems..... Do you think he is jacking me around because they accidentally sent me a price of 8500 in the email?

Thanks again
8500 is a fuggin steal, although I just would hate to have the 2.5L with the auto. I'm sure that's a real dog.

I paid 12k for my 2.5L Sport with the manual. All options except Navi. The Navi sux from what I hear, but to each his own. I plan on buying a Pioneer AVIC anyway.

He probably doesn't know what he's talking about in reference to whether it's FWD or not. If it's a 2.5L, it has AWD. It was standard in the US anyway. He could be right about the tranny problems though. I'm not sure what it is with these cars and auto tranny.

Anyway, for 8500, that's one helluva deal. Transmission could set you back 3k, but still not too back at 11.5k. I'd get him down to 8k since they'll have a hard time getting rid of it anyway.

OH MY GOODNESS!!!!! STEAL IT FOR $8K! Maybe even $7.5K! Drop $2.5-3K on an aftermarket warranty, and call it a day! The day the tranny takes a crap, you're covered! Any other problems, and you're covered too! DO IT! DO IT!, wait you said Chicago...you better get there before Quil does!

Hey red98...........sounds like a good deal.........if its 2.5 for sure its AWD no question. The tranny is a weak point though, if he's tellin you its bad, well expect to spend some $$$ to put it right, but could still be a helluva deal if you're prepared to mess about and get it sortred.
Check out some prices of a replacement tranny first and an aftermarket warranty. Then you can have a total of just how much she's gonna run you

How's about just the warranty, and then let the warranty take care of the bad tranny?

Freaking buy the dang thing and guy an aftermarket warranty or one from the dealer...the car may be front wheel drive because the tranny is f-d up!!! Make sure you look at it though to see exactly why it is so cheap if you haven't seen it yet...i'll have to look and see if there is anything near that price....
