Default Another rear camber question ???

Just bought a 2004 x type sport diesel. It has excess negative camber on both rear wheels and has worn both tyre inner edges to balding, after preliminary pulling and tugging i cant find no obvious play in the arm joints. Which arm tends to be the culprit ? upper control arm ? or lower arm ? I have just bought 2 new tyres and want to sort this problem out. The car is riding on Jaguar 18 inch rims with 225/40/18 tyres.

Yorkie, odds are, your problem lies in the lower front control arm on your car. If you pull the tire off, you will see an arm that is under the car (at the 6 o'clock position), one at the 12 o'clock position, and then one at the 8 (LH side) or 4 (RH side) o'clock position. It is the arm that is at the 8/4 position that is most likely your culprit. Granted, probably want to look at the bushing under the adjuster bolt at the center of the car as this can go bad to, leading to it being difficult to see the play.

Cheers. I have them ready and waiting in my ebay watch. 40 quid per side from a Jaguar dealer.

Spot on Thermo. Both outer babies arm joints are very worn. Just ordered 2 from Hatfields.

yorkie, after you put the new ones in, make sure your get an alignment! I did this swap and my rear alignment was way off and I would have had uneven wear again if I I did not correct my rear toe.
