Hello, I don't know if this is a legitimate request but I found this Jag about 10 minutes away from Chicago and I live in Virginia (12 hour drive for me [:@]) that I really like and want to buy but I don't trust the dealer telling me it is very nice. I would, on the other hand, trust a Jaguar Forums member to go and check it out, test drive it, and let me know if it is a good deal and a reliable car. Anyone? Please...?

Exactly what does the car have that makes it so special, what year, equipt, color
etc and what are they asking for it, I live in VA also, and if your in the market for an X type I know of a couple of really nice ones for sale right now. Where in VA do you live?

 

I live in Virginia also, but northern virginia to be exact. The car seems extremely rusty, i am not sure if thats normal...

That looks about on par with about 90% of the cars in the Northern Ill and Wisconsin areas...Personally, I wouldn't have it..look around closer to home IMO....I went out of State to buy mine, so I really shouldn't discourage you..But mine was Garage kept in Florida and had like 1200 miles on it and never driven in the rain or at night....so.....To answer your question..UpTown Girl lives in N Chicago area I think.

I live in Harrisonburg, VA and what I'm looking for in a 2005 Jaguar X-type Sport with 3.0L V6 engine and a 5 speed manual tranny, (preferably the quartz silver color). This jag was all that even with the navigation system, which I think is kind of rare on the 05 models with Sport package. But if it only wasn't for that rust...[&o][:@]

Now I'm thinking if I can't find what I want, I guess I will look for the next car that I like which is a Mazda RX-8... I hope I don't sound too stupid to anyone.

I'd look for a southern states car for anything older than an 06. No or very little exposure to road salt and the elements. I live in Pittsburgh, but bought mine in N. Carolina, totally rust free. The rockers are known to have some issues with rust from the inside. You should be able to find something in Texas or Florida to fit the bill, even thought the MT can be hard to come by.

How much were they asking for it and what miles? I have an 03 and it doesnt have anywhere near that amount of rust on it. (I live 1 hour north of philly)

 

They wanted $14,995 and it had 45K miles on it...

Good choice in not getting that jag, i could personally never find myself buying a car from someone so far away. This is because if anything huge breaks, and it seems like a prexisiting problem, i will hunt him down!
