Default Battery charging issue

Hi All,

Have an issue with my x type 2.2d sport. Battery went flat, charged it and went flat again. Bought new battery and it went flat. Engine running and turning out 13.2v. Is my next step a lead replacement or alternator renewal do you thibk (or scrap!)

Thanks

Alan

As I said in your intro post that's low but if the battery was part charged the alternator could still have been bringing it up to full voltage.
If it was fully charged you may have a problem, as you say, with either the alternator or connections.
If you don't have one can I suggest you get a digital multimeter with a 20A range.
Put the battery on charge overnight if it wasn't.
I prefer to disconnect the battery -ve while charging JIC the charger fries the ECM (it did for my Toyota ECM).
At the same time check the connections - the X type is not one I know well but the ground lead to bodywork connection is always worth dismantling, cleaning, putting back together and coating with silicone grease or similar.
When you've done these simple things let us know + we can do some trouble shooting.

13.2v is not perfect 14.4v is. Id check the ground as well as said above.
