Battery light

When i accelerate in 1st 2nd and 3 rd in my 2004 xtype 2.5 the battrey light comes on then goes off as speed levels out. Any ideas anyone please?

As this is only happening when you up the revs to accelerate, have you checked for slipping / worn drivebelt?
