Best Price EVAAARR!!! $475 Labour for Clutch - MISTAKE!!!!
That's right folks! I'm going to get my clutch done this Monday for $475. I'm so happy, I might give him an even $500. I'm ordering that ebay clutch referred to me by bigdreams.
What else will I need in parts besides the pressure plate, clutch, release bearing?
Well here's an edit for you...He thought I was talking about an S-Type, which I didn't know came in a maual, especially here in the states. So he got my hopes up [:@]
Well, I gotta get back to looking for a good price now.

I would buy the clutch now so that whenever a deal comes up, you already have the clutch. Remember that wherever you go, labor and the clutch will be pricedseperately. $475 seems pricey to me, but I'm sure that's because I'd do the work myself.

Link to the clutch please....
Is it the used one you were looking a while ago, or a new clutch?

I'm getting this weird noise/vibration when I'm in 4th/5th gear when I let off the gas. It's a weird whirring now (whiiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr). The vibration is around 50MPH+. I know I didn't hear it when I got the car, so I'm sure this is related to the clutch issue at hand.
So I'm just confused. I may just have to suck it up and pay out the *** and just get it done. The absolute best price I've found thus far is $1k labour. So with all these friggin parts I have to buy, I'm still going to spend out the ***. This sucks...
Are you sure that the clutch is the problem? I doubt that's it clutch after your description. It sounds like the driveshaft problem that everyone else has delt with. There is a thread with 40+ pages of info that you should read up on. Let me find it: https://www.jaguarforums.com/m_4926/tm.htm
Read up and good luck.

Man that was a while ago...what did the dealer want? Wish I could help you spartan! Good luck!
Just be careful though because I'd hate for you to buy used parts and find a problem and than have that tranny shop have to charge you again to change out more parts...[&:]
