bonnet not sitting flush
Hi guys
Im new here and am about to buy my jaguar x type but need some advice
I am intending to buy a 2004 x type with 20k miles, however it is a previous cat d damaged that has been repaired, except that the bonnet doesn't sit flush and the bumpers paint is peeling slightly.
Im not so worried about the bumper peel, but more the bonnet.
Does the bonnet not siting properly indicate other structural damaged to the car?
I will appreciate any answers back
Thank you very much

RE: bonnet not sitting flush
where, specifically does it sit improperly?
When I bought mine, it looked fine.
When I got it home, it looked like the right front corner sat a little high above the headlight.
As it turns-out, When I inspected the car at the dealer, I had not closed the hood properly, and it was not seated completely.
more details?

It may be an indication of a poor repair, or as was suggested it just might not be closed the whole way. There is a little bit of adjustment with the rubber bump stops, but other than that, if it is not close, then they may have been less than perfect when doing the re-assembly.
Can you fit your finger in between the bonnet and the headlight assembly?

Yes , try adjusting the bump stops.
If that doesnt work I would really think twice about buying.
Poor repair...did they relace the bonnet with a new one, or a slightlybentused one, replace hinges if they were bent, was the car jigged properly if it needed it, were the neighbouring panels fitted and aligned correctly, etc , etc?
