Default Can I use the standard springs with the sport suspension?

Hey fellow Xtypers. It's come time for me to replace the front struts in my standard 2.5L Xtype. I wanted to upgrade to the sport suspension, but I'm on a budget and was hoping that I could get away with using the standard springs. Would I have any issues using standard springs on front sport struts?

The main difference in the sport vs the standard is spring length / ride height. That being said you should not put a sport spring on standard strut. It is valved to dampen at the right rate vs height.

If you are just replaceing the front you should not change from standard to sport. You would need to swap all four corners.

All that said you don't say what year you have or what transmission, but for an automatic. The springs are the same price from Jaguar. At Gaudin they are both $60.72. That is only $121 for both. I don't know where you can find new spings cheaper.
