Default cdc issue

i have searched and cant seem to find anyone with the same issue. im new to the jag life. more cadi and mercedes till now. the deck has a CDC button yet nothing happens when pushed. i have searched the car for a changer yet i cant find one. i cant even find where it would have been. it has a NAV setup but no computer found for the system. otherwise radio works fine deck wise.

did these folks put a deck in and leave things disconnected if not ordered?

is there a way to find out if there was one originally?

The CDC button is certainly for a CD changer. It's in the trunk on the left behind a little door. If you don't have a CD changer you can press the button all day long. It's just a dead button. If you do have a changer and the button doesn't work you'll need a Jag dealer, or your local Jag guy to activate the button. That means plugging a computer into the car and pushing a few buttons. He'll know what to do.
Alternatively you could buy the elusive ACM kit and trick your radio into thinking your iPhone is a CD changer. And listen to your own tunes or Pandora as you drive. Also works great with the sat-nav app on your iPhone.

As has been said, the CDC should be in the boot with the Sat Nav Drive.

Assuming you have the Sat Nav/ GPS Head unit you can add the CDC.
Get hold of one second hand ( about £75 in UK), you need the additional fibre optic cable to link into the sat nav drive chain.........

Again assuming you have the SAt Nav head unit, you can get into the menu and add the CDC under options, you don't need a Jag guy........
