Complete subframe drivetrain swap question.
If I swap the complete assembly between cars, a 2.5 to 3.0.
How high does the car body need to be to get it out? with manifold off
Any computer related controllers or such need to be swapped?
BTW, if you have experienced it, is a motor swap easier? out thru the top perhaps
Thanks

I haven't personally done one, but my mechanic has done them both ways.
He prefers the out through the bottom method, because he can service everything out in the open; cats, accessories, transfer case, transmission. It doesn't save a tremendous amount of time, but does change the effort required, since everything drops out cleanly. The rear cat makes out from the top a challenge, you need to remove the cat (at least) or the rear exhaust manifold to cleanly pull it, or remove the front upper crossbrace for clearance.
A 3.0 will happily run on the 2.5 controller; he's never gone in the opposite direction, so no info there.
As far as height, he brings the car right up on the lift, looks like it actually clears at a bit under 3½ feet ( 1 meter).
