How much would a complete tune up cost? I want to completely flush everything in my X-Type to give it a good fresh start for this upcoming summer, I suppose i can put the spark plugs in myself, maybe change my MAF sensor since its from 2002. Has anyone flushed their X-Type complete by a shop? Ofcousre someone can try to do this themselves but i feel like a shop would do a much better job than myself, plus all that work. How much could this cost me? I live in the Chicago-land area by O'Hare

 

That would depend on just what you do and where you take it. A dealer would most likely be more expensive than a good independent shop.
Then would you flush the cooling system, change the brake fluid, transfer case fluid, diffs, transmission, etc. If you change the plugs probably a good idea to change the upper and lower manifold gaskets while you are in there. Fuel filter, air filter, cabin filter-that could probably be done by you. You have someone do all this at one time it could easily be over $1K. You do some of it yourself and you could save a lot. If it was me, if the car is otherwise running well I would do the fluids first just because then you know where you stand with all that. Everything else, you can do at your leisure or when you want to spend the money.
