Default Conversion of X-type 3.0 (2004) to GPL

Hi all,

My X-type 3.0 AWD has done 160.000 km and I plan to keep it for a lot longer since it's a true pleasure to cruise down the highways in it. (Ok it is currently stationed at the local Jaguar workshop, waiting for a replacement transfer box, but a part from that it has been a pretty smooth ride so far

With fuel prices going up, up, up, I am thinking of converting to GPL. I guess the 3000 € will earn itself back in fast.

However, I also came across this page and it got me a bit worried: Go LPG Research - Jaguar/Ford V6 engines

Is this true? Can I expect/risk some major engine overhaul after 30.000 km if I convert? (The engine runs absolutely perfect now). Hope to get some calming news.

Thank you very much & greetings from Portugal!

Mine is LPG without flashlube and has over 70,000 miles since conversion

3,000 euro is a lot though

It does around 596 Kilometres for 53 Euro

Petrol would be 103 Euro

Also

X-Type - Jaguar - Grilles

I had an XJ with the 3.0L engine, it had 130k when I got it and had been run for 80k on GPL (lpg). The valves in one head had no clearance on the valves particularly exhaust and needed new heads.
I have had 4 cars with LPG and this was the only one that showed issues with Valve seat recession
If you do convert use valve lube on it??
