RE: cracked side marker
Your mirror isn't the passenger one is it? Mine is cracked as well. As fjt said get your finger back there and pull out they just pop out. Be careful though there are 2 connections on the glass.
I've been looking for quite some time now to find just the glass replacement and the only thing I could find was an adhesive mirror that attaches to your stock glass (I wouldn't use this method.)
Jvegas where have you found sets for $10 I need a passenger side one! I tried to get one from a junkyard but they said I couldn't just take the glass as they sell full doors with full mirrors and wouldn't sell just the mirror.

RE: cracked side marker
I just popped out my side markers. It was really easy. Slide the front ones towards the front bumper and then pull the side nearest the door straight out at you. There is a small hook on the back side of the housing facing the door. You need to slide the light housing about 1/4" to get it to release from the hook.
I removed my lights so I could black them out. This is what they look like now.

RE: cracked side marker
jvegas, well, I blacked out the lights by taking some RC Car "Window tint" colored paint and spraying that into a jar. I then took that paint and thinned it 4:1 (4 parts thinner: 1 part paint). I then sprayed the lenses using my air brush so I could control the darkness a little bit better. I ended up putting 2 coats of the thinned paint on to the lenses. Granted, I also coated the lenses with some adhesion promotor and also cleared the lenses once the window tint paint was applied so it won't flake off. I haven't seen it with the lights on at night, but I will take a picture to let you see what it looks like.

Jvegas if you are wanting to black stuff out get some "niteshade" I've used it and it works great. It comes in a spray can and you just spray it and that's it. You can get some clear for it and spray that to seal it.
Thermo I'm curious how a side marker would get cracked?

RE: cracked side marker
aquill, as for how a side marker would get cracked, odds are it was a victim of a shopping cart or other similiar object getting thrust into the side of the car and the marker light just happened to be the item to take the hit. Granted, could simply have been a manufacturing defect and with changing temps and whatnot, stresses built up and it spontaneously cracked. The only other idea that I can think of is someone cracked theirs somehow and then when you were parked somewhere, simply swapped out marker lights with.
Now, if you plan on blacking out the light, an option is to getsome liquid plastic glue and after getting the crack lined up so the outside surface is flat, you can take a little bit of the glue (use a paint brush with a few hairs on it) and dip that into the glue and then place the paint brush at one end of the crack. Keep applying glue until the whole crack is filled with glue. Let dry and that will hide a lot of the crack. The glue can be picked up at most hobby stores that sell model cars. I normally pick up this glue at model train stores as they tend to have a larger variety of glues to choose from.
If you need some more ideas, just hollar.

RE: cracked side marker
Be hard for many things to hit that side marker though. The lip of the wheel well would generally come into contact with a shopping cart before hand. If it were a manufacture defect I'm sure we would have already heard about it and someone would have complained by now! LOL!
I'd just buy a set of clear ones on ebay for 31 bucks shipped and call it a day. I paid 45 for mine if I'm not mistaken.
