Hello X-type lover,
My hapiness about my purchase of an x-type (1996 V2.0 gasoline manual) last week lasted a short time the car did not manage to drive home (150 km). The symptoms are
- first position of the key: ciphers 8 followed by horizontals dashes in the odometer space
- start position: cranking but no starting
Has anyone experienced the same and found a solution?

Sounds af if the instrument pack is going out. But first test the battery. I had an xtype that would crank with no problem but somehow the voltage was incorrect to the crank position sensor. So i would give that a try first. Usually if the ip is going out it wont crank due to the network being down.
