Dealer cant solve Misfire Cylinder 5
Hello everyone,
I am new to the forums and I have a very difficult problem that a local dealer has been unable to fix.
Here are the car details:
2004 Xtype 2.5L
Problem Codes:
P1316
P0305
P1111
Symptoms:
When the engine is cold, on startup the car revs and then bogs down a bit, once warm it is fine.
The following is what the dealer has done:
1.)Replaced spark plugs with OEM plugs
2.)Swapped two coils to see if the misfire would occur on the other cylinder (which it did not)
3.)Replaced fuel filter and performed a pressurized fuel system cleaner??
4.) After all of those actions were completed they told me it was my fuel injector on the 5 cylnder and that I had to replace ALL the injectors because it was a complete unit which would run between 1000 - 1300. I then got a second opinion and they said the same thing. So I told them to go ahead with the work. They replaced the fuel injectors / rail and guess what.... I am receiving the same codes and symptoms. The dealer said they would like to take a look at it again because they are curious and want to learn from this. Well this is upsetting because it is an expensive lesson for me to be teaching them. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I am not very mechanical but I have read on this forum the ECM could be reporting the cylinder incorrectly and that maybe i should swap other coils not related to the 5 cylinder?
Thank you
