Default diesel 2.0 xtype

Wonder whether anyone can help: car won't start at all on turning on ignition. No click from starter motor, nothing. Get 'Fuel computer data error' message, and ABS warning (red) light flashes. What can I check/do without an expensive visit to Jag dealers? Many thanks.

Buy a battery. They can fail without notice.

I would second Alfadudes reply and get the battery checked.

Hi there,

Thanks for the tip. I've been away for a few days hence the delay in responding, but thank you very much. Car's been at a non- jag garage for a week, they've done all kinds of tests and come up with nothing. They are now suggesting the immobiliser may be faulty. But I'll get a new battery next and have them install it. I'll put in a post soon as anything develops. Thanks again.

Good luck. Hope it turns out to be a simple easy fix. Can't say I ever saw a post on here where someone confirmed they traced an issue to a bad immobilizer, so I wouldn't think that likely. But, there is always a first time.
