Default Do i need upper or lower rear control arm?

Do I need upper or lower rear control arm on my 2004 x type AWD. The rear tires lean in at the top sitting on level ground. The inside tread of the tires wear off prematurely while the rest of the tread is fine. I had it alignment 2 times and doesn't help. Thx for any advice.

I got these for my Volvo (same suspension but do check). They work great. But also check your suspension to make sure it's not something worn out.

Rainbowboy, not trying to be a smart butt here, but it can be either. Odds are it is the upper arm that needs replaced based on what you are describing. But, the lower/forward arm will also cause the tire to lean a little (not as much as the upper arm will) and it will also cause the tires to wear on the inside edge as the lower arm is essentially allowing the wheel to not point straight ahead. so, it is allowing the rear tires to try and turn the car while the front wheels are forcing the car to run straight ahead. As you can imagine, this will cause lots of tire wear.

You can go with the kit that is recommended above or if you want another option, check out:

Essentially the same thing in both posts. If you are looking at replacing the lower/forward arms, the only option you have that I am aware of is getting new Jaguar parts. They run about $100 an arm and require 2 bolts to be removed to swap out the arms.

The arm I referred to is the upper, not lower, arm.
