Default Door card repair

Door card repair.

My driver’s side front door card attachment on the top left was damaged beyond repair and it was left flopping back and forth.

My solution was to attach a small 90 degree angle support bracket. I found one on ebay that had one of the mounting holes that was threaded for a #6-32 machine screw.

I used a sheet metal screw to mount the bracket to the door and the machine screw with screw head trim cover to the threaded hole in the bracket. Forgot to take pics of the bracket mounted inside of the door. But here is the hardware that I used:

I may dye the trim cover later, but I swear you don't even notice it. Door card is very secure now.

Nice job Lew..

My o3 x-type started to lose flakes of color off from the glove box cover..I had to repaint that and the bulster trim under the steering wheel for a color of trim balance.. as it was impossible to find an exact vinyl paint to match...I had the Ivory interior

DPK, did you look at SEM Color Coat? Their Sandstone color matched my Champaign(SEL) interior color. I re-colored all the interior except the door cards with it. Interior looks brand new now. Even smells new inside!
