2000 XK8 door locks acting up. Remote or key can lock driver side, but passenger lock cycles and does not lock. Once inside and driving, both doors lock. Neither door unlocks when stopped and pulling driver or passenger side handle to unlock. Must use remote to unlock. Where do I start???

 

I have similar problem w/ 2003 XJ8 passenger door. It will not unlock by remote or either handle in/out. Did you solve your problem?

 

Thanks for the response. My problem was a little different. Both doors would lock when the transmission was placed in drive or reverse, and the inside door handles would not open the doors. Either one. Had to use both the remote and the handles to jiggle my way out. I temporally solved it by removing the 10amp fuse marked "Door locking actuators". Now the doors will only lock manually and that works for both doors. Your problem sounds like the passenger door latch itself, but I am a lousy trouble shooter...don't trust my guess....H
