DSC and lossing speed

So I was just reading on the BMW X5 forum I belong to, about things you didn't know your X5 could do. One was with regards to the DSC and how when activated, when slipage begins, your car slows its speed for you (just like the Jag). I know that many of use just turn the DSC off and put the hammer down and control slide it when in deep snow or climbing a hill that is slick, but here is something we have to try.
NOW I HAVE TO TRY THIS...... So if you press and hold your DSC button for about 10 seconds, it will first display off then it will come back on (I tested and works the same in the Jag as on my X5). When it comes back on the DSC is to work without the reduction is engine power....... Holly Crap, can you imagine..... Down side to get your car out of this mode, you have to turn off engine and turn back on.
I can not wait for the snow to start again so I can try this out.
Have a great summer all....... And there is a reason that cat wants off the hood of my car.
