Cheers,

I leave my dongle plugged in too - I'll stop doing it

Possibly the last update

Battery and charging system is good and no drain found - load test gave 12.7v

Finally found an auto electrician willing to visit the sticks - he took the ECU out and says it's as good as the day it was put in at the factory - not the slightest hint of water damage.

That leaves a 90% chance that it's the instrument cluster and 10% on the central locking system - it all depends where the immobiliser is as he said there are only 3 places the immobiliser can be and he ruled out the ECU

The main problem lately is the immobiliser kicking in and I can't even start the car if it has been left standing for a few days

I read in another post that it could be the car forgetting the key fob data and having to re-learn it if the key is turned on and ignition live and the car will start after 25 minutes - this seems to be what is happening to me as the fault code won't clear until I have tried several times and it is about 25 minutes before it clears and the car starts

So can someone confirm the immobiliser relay(?) is in the instrument cluster or not? - been googling like mad and can't find the answer

Cheers
