Default Enkei Wheel Help!

I have a 2002 X type, I got 20' Enkei LS5 from a friend, the tires on there are 245/35/20. I also got wheel adapters because of the bolt pattern(bought from a rim shop and dont know mm) but the tires will not fit! it rubs the bumper as soon as you turn it, i went to 2 different tire shops and they said they cannot find smaller tires. and if i did i would screw things up on my car, also the rims. is that true? Ive seen people have 225/30/20 and how did that go for them? i know someone can help me.

Someone please help me, what should i do? how to get tires or do something with the adapters? please help!

I run 18's with a medium amount of backspacing and it is the limit for the car. The only way that you could go bigger is if you decrease your backspacing, yet by buying wheel adapters, you have increased the backspacing and there is almost no way that you will be able to fit them (especially with 20's.)

This is coming without looking at your tires and wheels, yet I have had the same problem on a previous car. Hopefully exexpat will be able to post on this thread here soon and help you out with his extensive knowledge of various wheels and what do and do not fit on this car.

Its about the offset i guess. My adapters are 31.8 mm, those are big. I just found a web site that makes custom ones. But I know, i was hoping he would. Thank you for the response!

See my IM response on stanceworks. 17mm hubcentric/wheel-centric spacers and 225/30 is your only hope. I know it hurts cost-wise, but 40mm is already an aggressive offset if you have to space your wheels.
