Wink Expensive service

Well I just paid for my spark plugs and fuel filter to be changed - $1031.10 AUD. That's separate from a normal service - just the plugs and fuel filter were done. It's a little pricey but I would rather pay a premium to get the job done right the first time rather than getting a cheaper job done elsewhere but not to the same quality. For example, in this job the inlet manifold gaskets as well as the cam gasket were renewed (not reused like shonkier people might have done).
The quality of the job is attested to by the way she runs - she is super smooth in acceleration now, and drives really smoothly. So overall I am happy... Plugs and fuel filter should be good for another 112,000 Km.

£550 to change oil, plugs and a couple of filters: I'm in the wrong job.

I would rather pay than try and do the job myself - I would just botch it up. What with having to remove the inlet manifold the change plugs job is labour intensive. Approximately 80% of my bill was for labour.

Ah well, as long as you are happy paying that much. It really isn't such a difficult job, but does take some effort/time. With the cost of inlet manifold gaskets and plugs (good ones) in Australia, it probably wasn't too large a bill. Keep cruising.

Apologies, didn't mean to be negative.
If you are happy with the end result then that is what counts.
I've just been through a recent series of automotive upsets so feeling slightly jaded..
Happy motoring!
