Default Falcon ZE-912 235/45R17 feedback

My car has eaten through a set of tires due to a bad alignment in the back that I didn't catch. So, I am getting the alignment redone and looking to upgrade the tires to something slightly wider. I am looking at the 235/45R17's on the factory rims. My main reason for doing this is to put a little more tire beyond the edge of the rim as I have a bad habit of parking right up against a curb and I have scratched all 4 rims. By putting on the slightly wider tires, I should stick the tire out far enough to save the rims. Any one else done this? Looking, it appears I should have plenty of room to do this with no rubbing.

The local tire shop is recommending the Falcon ZE-912's for the car. Reading some reviews on Tirerack.com, they seem to get pretty good reviews. I'm not too worried about winter traction as I have a truck that will easily handle the more adverse weather.

Let me know what you think. Don't worry about hurting my feelings. If the tires suck, say so, if they are great, say that too.
