Default Fan assembly

My x type started to overheat and I pulled over and noticed the my fans were not working. I dont have the cars manual so I cant cheack witch one is the relay. Can anyone help n tell me were to locate the relay. Thanks

Ernie, there is no relay or the fans. You have a control module that is mounted on the driver's side of the fan shroud (silver finned box you see just in front of the battery). That more than likely has failed on you. You can verify that the fuse is good, but normally it is the control module that has failed. Common problem with our cars.

You can also check out the fans by hot wiring directly to the fans to see if they are still good. But like has been said it's most likely your control module that's gone south on you.
