Have a 2002 x type 2.5 auto.
The remote locking fobs seem to regularly lose their ability to activate the central locking.I re programme them as previously advised and they work ok sometimes for an hour or two sometimes for a few days.
Sometimes when they dont work I leave the car overnight and next day the fob works ok.
I am also now experiencing occasional problems with the drivers door handle (interior) which refuses to unlock the door.The only way to open the door is to use the passenger handle which activates the mechanism to open the drivers door .This problem is only intermittent.
Are the two issues related? is there a simple explanation? Has anyone had these problems please?

 

What condition are the batteries in the remotes?

Hi ,thanks for your prompt response.I have replaced the batteries in the fobs recently and my local garage checked that the fobs were sending out signals ok.
