Hi, My dash fixture was completely removed from the dash, and the dash itself was beginning to bow outward. Using JB weld epoxy did the trick.

Before applying the weld I cleaned the surface, as suggested. I applied a thin bead of this stuff along the edge of the fixture and inserted back into the dash, used whatever I could find to keep it inplace for 24 hours. Appears to be holding after 48 hours later.

This has been an issue with all of my lovely X types and it is annoying, well done and congrats for posting to help others as well.
