Default Fuel computer data error

So I have a 2002 x type 2.5L. I went to work early Friday morning (August 8) and didn't use my car again until Sunday afternoon (August 10). When I started my car on Sunday I got a message saying "fuel computer data error" I turned my car off and on and it was still there. I drove about 0.5 miles and the message went off and my fuel tank said it was hovering above empty with 28 miles to go. Slowly as I'm driving the needle is moving up and stays between the red zone and the 1/4 Mark. I drove 26 miles and when I got to my destination it said 14 miles to go with no warning light on. My dad disconnected my battery for about 20-25 minutes and when I restarted Sunday afternoon everything was fine. I drove Monday and didn't have any problems. Left my car until today (Wednesday August 13) and I got the same fuel computer data error. I drove again for about 0.5 miles and it turned off and said I was at empty with 31 miles to go. When I got gas on Monday on my way home I parked my car with 86 miles to empty. How can I fix this and what exactly is going on??

Did you ever get an answer to the fault. I've got a 2005 2.0 Diesel and this error comes up and stops the car firing so I cant start it.

Just interested if you got any where with it.

Cheers Gazza
