Default Gearbox Fault Message -Need Help ASAP

Hi guys,

Have a gearbox fault message just come up. Was driving down the road when the message came up. Just a check engine light but can't read it with the code reader I have. Any suggestions? Can I reset it myself somehow or what else can I check out? Not much info on the internet for it sadly. I'm stuck please help! Thanks guys!

You'll need to get the code and post it. It may be manufacturer-specific, not generic OBDII.

What scanner can I get that will read it? I'm pretty sure my obd2 innova 3100 read my 2002 jaguar s type gearbox fault but won't read this one. I called a generic import mechanic and he said we don't deal with that many jags so then I called Jaguar in town and asked how much to was the code and they said $139 to start but it "may not read a code" so now I don't want to pay an Arm and a leg to them to not receive any good info from them! Neither place sounded confident. Is there a better scanner I could buy that could read the tcm also? Was looking at the innova 3130c. Another helpful suggestions? Thanks guys

Try looking for an answer on Just Answer ... it may be listed already - or you can pick a price to pay for info. Richard is VERY good. Helped me a lot over the years and did not have to pay a lot for the solutions. I no longer have the Jag ... so this is one of the final posts for me. Best wishes ...
