I have a 2004 2.0 diesel been driving great until a couple of days ago. Then the glow plug light on the dash started flashing and the car went into limp mode. All was ok the following day but over the past few days this has turned into a real problem. Car seems ok when started in the morning but once the engine is turned off the next time I start it up the glow plug flashes again.
Tried to get a reading on diagnostic machine but no codes are showing.
Any thoughts appreciated

 

Hi Sammy,I just bought an x type estate 2005 and had the same problem,luckily for me it was still under warranty and the garage had to change all the glow plugs and it had a split in the turbo hose.Total cost to the garage was £800,only had it back 3 days but it drives like a dream now.Sorry I don't suppose that is what you wanted to hear

 

This is happened to me yesterday and i lost a lot of power too. Car was still driving but revs struggling and would not go faster than 70.

however today my car drives perfect and the warnign light is no longer flashing?
