Default Go on, convert me to in car sat nav

In car I have 2006 sat nav disc. The system works as it should.
Is it worth updating to the 2016?
I have been using tom tom for about 12 years. Compared to that, in car system seems clunky, ugly maps, user friendly as an angry porcupine.
So, should I update? Btw I wouldn't buy the update from jag, it's 5 times the price of tom tom world map lol. I'd download it or aftermarket disc it.
Does the jag system have live traffic/road closures etc?
So go on, Sell it to me or tell me to leave as-is.

Don't know about the update but I don't use mine because it's in the wrong position. Cant view it and the road. Might just as well use my phone!
My screen mounted Garmin is in front of my face. easy to glance at whilst still being aware of the road.

Yes good point. Ergonomics of it being down there are all wrong.

That's why I left mine in "British" language selected to listen to the British lady audibly guide me to my destination (little nuances like in 1/4 mile BARE left = opposed to American selection of in 1/4 mile TURN left are cool). And never look at the screen while in motion, that's why it plays voice through the speakers.

Btw, I'm nearly positive the last available update for X type NAV is 2012.

Turn left and bear left are two totally different directions To bear left is to swing left, as in swinging onto a slip road " I think you call them off ramps" or to take a left fork in a road. To turn is just that as in turning into a road.
Some of our interchanges and islands are very complex and congested it's handy to see a visible picture of what you are heading for.By the time the nice lady tells you what to do it's too late, you are in the wrong lane and stuffed.
MY Garmin shows what's ahead and highlights your route well in advance.
I am sure you are correct with the date of the latest cd. which in UK is also a pain with our constant changing junctions.
My Garmin I update every three months.

Sorry but the Jag system is pants.

I agree with the Pants.
Tom tom shows a drivers view of which lane to pick if there is a choice. If I miss a turn, the recovery route is done in seconds. I get traffic information and during journey it will offer faster alternatives. And as stated, it's an ergonomic nightmare where the screen is.
I might download the Jag system ISO image for free and make a disc just *because*.

Our 2006 has the 2012 disc. The system works ok if you're traveling long distance on the highway as most highways are not new.

However... we generally use our phones because they're more up-to-date.

Overall, it's like... we fire up the onboard NAV for a trip and it will keep us generally apprised of where we're going, but if we get to a point where we need more detail... we use a phone app.
