Groaning from brakes when turning left
Morning all,
My 2005 X-Type 2.2d has a groaning noise coming from what I think is the rear left brake. It only happens when turning left and once the brakes have warmed up a little. I've recently fitted Focus St brakes and calipers to the front but the noise seems more like its coming from the rear. The groaning is like bus brakes and only when turning left. Could it be a knackered caliper on the back?

Bobstar: Just spit balling.... Try removing the rear tires and looking for abrasion marks on the plastic fender liner where it may be rubbing against a tire.
My X-Type groaned during a hard right turn at ~20-30 MPH. The plastic fender liner had warped just enough to rub against the rear tire during hard right turns. Two repairs eliminated the noise:
1) Pulled the warped fender liner away from the tire
2) Replaced the rear control arms to minimize rear wheel deflection during turns
