Help with electrical faults
Rotate, with the playing of the ignition switch to get the conditions to change, I would also try moving the steering column up and down some to see of that changes your symptoms. From what you are describing, it is sounding like you have a loose plug or something of the like in the steering column and that is causing things to go bonkers.
Well indicators are working after fiddling with plugs / wire in the steering column but this seems to have caused a battery drain as over two days its dead again... I'm wondering if it has been jump started in the past ? I've heard this can cause lots of damage
Rotate, if they had put the cables on backwards, yes, it could cause big issues. Otherwise, I can't see how it would.
If you can fiddle with the wires in the steering column and then have a change in conditions, then I would be pulling the covers off and seeing if you have a wire with damaged insulation. That could explain the symptoms that you are seeing.

Ok so I have been away on holiday and left my car at the Jag garage, they have run diagnostics and say it is the dash that is causing all the problems but want 700 pound for a new one. They are happy to reprogram one if i get it secondhand but does it have to be the exact model from exact car ? Any ideas ?
