I just left work and when I turned on my 05 jag the headlights turned on for a second, then shut off. Everything else works like the fogs, high beams, and parking lights, just not the main headlights! I cannot see any visible blown fuses, and I do not own a correct owners manual so I'm at a loss at to what I should check. Can someone give me an idea?

 

There's a fuse for both left and right headlamps inside the engine compartment fuse block.

Near the top of this X Type forum, there's a link to an Owner's Handbook download as well. You can look at that online....choose your model, year, and North American handbook. Then look under Roadside Emergencies to find the fuse diagram.

 

Turns out that BOTH headlamps blew at the same time. Appearently one went and the surge from that one blowing out blew the other one. Go figure.

 

Yeah.....that's pretty rare! But glad you got it sorted out...
