help us help you..
year, model, engine, transmision, options. etc..

now there is also the short version of a long story, and that is if the check engine light came on, you need to get the codes read. There is no other way, besides guessing.

you can pay a dealer, pay less to an independant shop, but we need to know the codes that are logged.

Even cheaper would be to buy a code reader, or for free you can ususally go to a car parts store and they ususally have a code reader there and will check them for you for free....

get back to us please.

its a 2002 manual 2.5 liter. i let it run for awhile to warm up and the blinking engine light and messages stopped. would the code reader pick up a code even though the light is not on anymore?

It'll store the codes, but maybe vaccuum leaks.
