Default Help please - what is this part?

My Mom just had an accident in her x-type (an antelope running across the road hitting the right front corner of the car at about 100km/h). She had a huge fright, but thankfully it seems the damage might only be cosmetic (bumper, door etc).
Can anyone please tell me what the silver cylindrical part is next to the screen washer tank? I just want to look out for issues that might be caused by this part should it have been damaged in what was apparently a huge bang.
Thank you in advance!

Geeves from South Africa
PS. Picture is from prior to the accident, hence no damage visible

Ouch! Glad to hear mom's ok.

The silver cylinder is the drier for the A/C system. If the Freon system is intact and maintaining pressure, the drier canister should be ok. Any A/C repair shop will have a 'sniffer' to check for a Freon leak:

This thread has an 'unobstructed view' of the A/C drier canister: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...tually-120868/

You're welcome. If you want to spice up the story, tell mom "the flux capacitor is intact"!
