The 17" rims are 7.5" wide.

Perfect, that's what the rims I just ordered are from TireRack.
The name of the rim is Zinik Z18 Minardi_Black w/Machine Lip.

My X is a sport and all blacked out so I think the rims will look nice.

Are they coming with hub spacers or do the hubs meet the OEM dimensions?

Hub spacers are machined rings that fit inside the hub of the wheel to make sure the hub of the wheel fits the hub of the axle. It is important to know if your aftermarket wheels have hubs to OEM dimensions or if you need a spacer.

Discount Tire threw them in for free on my 17's for the X and some other cars I have bought rims for.

I don't want to send you into a panic - maybe they fit without hub rings, but it is something for you to consider.

I'll see what happens when they come in. I got mine from TireRack.

Couldn't you just select your car make, year and model from the tirerack.com website to make sure that you can only select wheels that fit your car?

I ordered wheels from wheelsnext.com some 3 or so weeks ago and they guarantee that the wheels will fit my car. As a matter of fact, they even went further and called me a couple of days after I placed my order through their website to let me know they now had the wheels in stock, but although the wheels were listed as being compatible, something would be a little too tight on my X-Type (I'm not very knowledgable so I don't know what exactly) and they strongly recommended that I pick something else instead. Which I did, and now my wheels are on their way home :-)

That being said, if you did select your car make, year and model, I doubt they will agree to ship you something that doesn't fit your car because they guarantee proper fitment. If you did not select your car and selected something that should approximately fit it, then that's another story.

I did order the ones that fit my car. TireRack had them at 17x7.5 but when I was on Tires.com they had ones that fit my car but they were 7.0 wide. That was my only reason for asking the question. I think TireRack is better anyway.

My receipt showed this "Required centering ring" so I think I'm good. They came in today and are getting installed as we speak. I think they'll look great. After I get it washed and some good pics taken I'll post some.

Speaking of that, anyone be able to tell me how to post pics or add a pic to my sig?

Great to hear - I'd like to see some pics! To post pics you will need somewhere to host them online - like photobucket or something like that. Then just copy and paste the link of the pic. There is probably and FAQ around here somewhere that has instructions. You can upload a small avatar from your computer - go to your user CP.
