Default Hi

Hi all potential new x type owner here.

Im considering a diesel x type but would like an auto, I know the later 2.2 could be gotten as an auto but ive found a damaged 06 2.0 diesel manual needing only a boot and rear bumper.
I can get also get a 2.5 4x4 petrol auto with a blown engine that could donate the body panels to repair the diesel one.
Im wondering thought would the diesel engine bolt up to the drive train on the petrol car ?and if so would the engine even be able to run ?
Sorry for joining and asking questions straight off.
Thanks for any help .

Sorry, but even if you could get the diesel in and mated to the petrol auto gearbox, first it would not be practically feasible to mix and match the various electronic modules involved and secondly, the gearbox ratios would be unsuitable for the diesel RPM range

I don't think it'll be simple bolt on, because each car have difference computers to control the engine.
