Default HID issue

Recently I have replaced a pair of HID bulbs in my aftermarket hid kit and for some reason when I turn them on, they come on for a second and turn right off. Sometimes the drivers side hid will stay on but the passengers side one will just flash for a second and turn off. I've been running my previous hid bulbs for 5 years without an issue and once I put those back in they stay lit. Does anyone know what the problem might be? I really don't want to drive with my old hids because I don't like the color.

roblox84, it is sounding like you are trying to use 50W HID bulbs with 35W ballasts. But, that is just a guess. HIDs are much more sensitive to ensuring that parts are matched. After that, it is sounding like the ballasts may be getting bad with age.

I had this problem with my lights, but it was just the driver's side. You might check your negative and positive cables from the bulb cables. Take the spade connector off of the end and wrap it around a ground on your car and then bolt it down, that's what I did, and I have 0 problems with my HIDs other than the passenger high beam wobbles for some reason o.O
