Default HID Melting question

I have had a few problems with other vehicles when switching to the halogen HID STYLE lamps (you know the blue 100w bulbs) well the issue I had was that after a month it would either melt the wiring harness/plug or it would illuminate and get so hot it would put that nasty haze on the outside of the headlight assembly, well not really a haze it would melt the clear protectant off the outside of the assembly making it look hazy and nasty, do hids burn at a really high temperature that would cause these issues also?

HID produces less heat then halogen, as well as operates with less power consumption

Those painted blue bulbs are crap. Get some HIDs.. you'll never go back to halogens.
