I'm pretty fustrated at this point! I have a 2003 Jaguar X-type. My husband opened my hood to jump start his car this morning and now my hood won't close all the way. The bonnet won't close down when I close the hood on it. I sprayed some WD-40 for lubrication, but still no luck! I had my oil changed a few weeks ago, and the same thing happend! But the lube technicians used a screw driver and pushed things around, and somehow they got the bonnet to close down and the hood closed. The hood release seems to be stuck, I pulled the release as far as I could, but it doesn't budge much! PLEASE HELP...my husband just left me with the problem cux he had to go to work this morning at 6am. Thanks a lot!
right sides of each latch gets seized.. its the part with the spring.. hit the farthest part of the latch on its right side.. when looking down at them..straight down .. on both latches.. then close the hood.

thanks for the help...the springs were part of the problem, i just lowered them! Also, what i did was i pulled on the cable opens the hood; it was stuck...from rust suppose...and that freed the bonnets, now the hood closes perfecttly!
