Hey dudes,
I bought my X years ago and did not get a valet key with it. I need a valet key for a remote starter. The install process I am using is; insert 1st regular key and turn to on position - wait till red security light behind shifter stops flashing, immediately insert 2nd regular key and turn to on - wait till red light stops flashing, and immediately insert uncut valet key (and push start on the remote starter). It is not working, and I am not sure if it is the generic Jag key I bought off Ebay or my method to program. The remote starter works fine if I hold one of my regular keys next to the ignition cylinder.

I read somewhere online to turn to on 4 times, so my method might be incorrect.

I didn't even know there was a valet key...I only got 2 regular keys from my dealer when I bought mine.

 

Hey, funny I live in Aurora, IL as well and I have an 03 2.5 silver on black X-type.

I bought mine from Jag of Elmhurst the day the White Sox won the World Series, I must have been in a hury to watch the game and forgot to have them promise me a valet key. Dammit

Yep, I work very close to Benedictine. My little bro goes to Benedictine and lives across from the Walgreens on Maple, so I visit him. I went to Benedictine myself for 2 years in 97 & 98.

 

Nice. Yea I'm a senior and I'm graduating early this december. Then hopefully onto med school. Ya I saw you a few times. Even honked once. But ya I'll keep an eye out for you. I use to have the only Jag at BU for 2.5 years. Now there are like 6.
